Eeee, varuna I love your house!  The colour and sparkly door is perfect for witches. Smiley  Which kit is it?  Is that the Victorian one?

Ashgrim, yours is looking very spooky.  I think it looks great as-is but I bet adding some texture with stippling would only add to the effect.

I told myself that I wouldn't work on any interior furnishing until the house itself was decorated and assembled.  So much for that.  My house is still in partially painted pieces, but I broke out the sculpey.  I've made delightful (if I may say so myself) tiny foods!  I love them!  I will post photos asap.

There is no way I am gifting my house.  I mostly craft for other people, either by gifting or selling, and it is incredibly refreshing to work on a project that is just for me!  There's no worrying about costs for pricing, or billing for time, or worrying about other people's tastes, and there's no deadline!  I am LOVING it!  I need to craft for me more, I think.

I've considered selling my house afterwards but since it's my first one, I think I'll keep it. I figure that if I keep doing these, I'll eventually run out of room and have to sell a couple. I don't think I would gift them. I can't think of anyone I know who would really appreciate them.

I thought I read something about a crackled paint effect using glue...?

I used Gorilla Glue's Wood Glue to glue my house together and to put in the paper on my floors - it worked really well!  It doesn't dry completely clear but it's very strong and dries quickly.

Oh wow, I HAVE to try that glue-crackling technique!!  I always assumed that effect took that expensive crackling medium stuff, so never tried.

I promise I will post pics of my actual house one day, but I'm pleased with my tiny food so I had to share!  This is also my VERY FIRST ATTEMPT EVER at working with polymer clay.  Cheesy  I made them about half the size that the tutorials suggested, so they are roughly to the correct scale.

For the bread I followed this tutorial: http://www.cdhm.org/tutorials/learn-to-make-miniature-bread.html

For the pumpkin this one: http://www.cdhm.org/tutorials/learn-to-sculpt-pumpkins.html
I did the carrots on my own, based on what I had learned from the pumpkin.

I am now addicted!  I made a bunch more already, but they were in the oven during photo-time.  If anyone needs tiny bread or pumpkins, let me know... I have excess already!

badpuppy, those are great!  You did a wonderful job making everything look realistic. I saw the tut on the pumpkins....I'll go check out the bread. I LOVE the bread you did!

badpuppy - The tiny food is fantastic!! The bread is my most favorite!

I'm thinking we should start a Miniature Sweat Shoppe Swap - perhaps early next year?!

I'm definitely keeping my wee house for me!
