I'm so glad to see that more people are joining up! Don't be afraid of being too slow. I think I'm going to have to put mine on hold pretty soon and I'm just trying to get as much done as possible before then.

I dug through my paper stash and found some lovely mulberry paper scraps that are the perfect color for my astronomy themed attic. I decoupaged them to the ceiling and am loving it. I also found a good neutral paper for the floor in there. Now to decide the color of the only wall...

I got the porch/outer floor painted with a dark gray wash so that it looks sort of like stain and allows the wood to come through. I'm going to experiment with sanding it for a distressed look, too.

I think once I get the house itself painted and wallpapered, I'll take the accessory part a bit more slowly. I figure I can continue to add to it gradually. It doesn't ever have to be "done."

Does anyone have experience making rugs? I was thinking either crochet or macrame would be a good way to go with it because I don't think I would have the patience for the tiny cross stitching. Or maybe some felt?

I am going to do a needlepoint rug...it will be the tiniest stitches I have ever done...I was going to use some chenille type yarn to make another rug as well...I think my challenge is to use up what I have instead of buying stuff...I have an old light fixture from our house that I am trying to figure out how to make a chandelier...amazing what you can do with spray paint and stuff...

Ooh, I love the idea of a needlepoint rug!
Batgirl is so kind and is shipping me a house, so I'm mulling over what I want it to be.

I have not yet put my house together...but the little sewing machine I got looks huge...I read the dimensions of the house ... so I am guessing that these are way too small for "regular" doll house stuff?  oopsy!  I will use the sewing machine for something else...I need another room plan now...

I'm so excited everyone is joining up!!!

I am being quite the slacker and haven't gotten much done on my dollhouse in the last few days. I started putting the furniture kit together, and it's a lot cuter than I thought it was going to be. I didn't really love the "puzzle" look of it, but I think it's much cuter in person.

alwaysinmyroom - the cottage house is a 1:24 scale. The Victorian and Fantasy houses are even smaller - I'm not sure exactly what scale. The furniture set fits nicely in the cottage, but looks big in the others.

I was thinking of making a mini loom with straight pins, but I may give the needle point a shot. I've never done any needle point, though. Sounds like fun!

a mini loom!!  there are so many good ideas!

I also did not like the puzzle look, but hubby suggested that I use spackle to fill in the connections...then cover with paint or whatever...that is my plan... Cheesy

A teeny braided rag rug could be cute, too.
