I say go for it! I would definitely recommend a medium-weight fabric for this, not just flimsy cotton...because I tried, and the bubbling was horrible and I had to start over. I used ModPodge Hard Coat (its in a purpley container) for the fabric (a BUNCH of coats, sanding with ultra fine sandpaper in between) and I sealed it with some Valspar Clear Spray Enamel/Varnish Smiley
