It is fun to see what other people are going to give.

husband: purchased underwear - haahaa, just kidding, I think :}

father: knit cashmere socks, almost finished, except for the toe of one
pocket shrine, if I can think of a suitable theme, he lives in Florida,  I could do sand and fire ants
          decorated washi paper box
          ceramic sculpture

sister: pocket shrine - nature (altered tin that reflects her)
lots of earrings (she just got a haircut and wants dangles)
          scarf and hat - knit
decorated washi paper box stuffed with goodies

nephew: pocket shrine - dragon
decorated washi paper box stuffed with goodies

neice: pocket shrine - tinkerbell
decorated washi paper box stuffed with goodies

brother-in-law: pocket shrine - pirate
decorated washi paper box stuffed with goodies

Everyone else gets Avon stuff! I am an Avon lady and my best customer.

- Fifilaru: I would like to see your pocket shrines?

My list:
Husband: longsleved T-shirt
Daughter, 19: ?
Niece, 16: knitted socs
Friend: quilt

And I would like to make advent calenders-in-matchboxes, like this:http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=366731.0 for a friend and my sister. Those two are easy - they love small, funny and cute things.
But I would like to make one for my Father too, and that's difficult. He is 87, and doesn't like cute  Undecided. Does anybody have ideas for  what to put in a calender for him? pictures, poems? or will it be to small?

I started writing my lists out at work last week and started getting stressed out just thinking about how much there is to do since I'm painfully slow at finishing things!

Mom & Mother-in-law: Relaxation kits which will include... eye masks, rice heat pillows, slippers, bath mitts and some sort of bath related concoction like bombs or soap.

Sister: Knit space invaders blanket and knit hooded scarf

Sister-in-laws: Purses, iPod cosies

Neice: Baby quilt (30% done. I've made the top cover but need to put everything together and quilt it), knit caterpillar (to go with a copy of The Very Hungry Caterpillar)

Husband: No idea... possibly going to try making him some boxers but will have to think more about proper gifts

Co-Workers: Lots of baked festive goods

I'm going shopping tomorrow to look for some fabrics to make a start on the relaxation kits.

I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

For the first time I going to have to fly home for the holidays. So I'm trying to keep it simple this year. Here's all I have so far:

- cards with photo (approx 40)
- friends and co-workers (in town):
   - home brew
   - hot sauce
   - baked treats or homemade caramel?
- everyone in my family + inlaws - little cookbook zine of my favorite recipes
- sister + nephew + sister's bf - knit wear (for New England winter)
- bro - art of some sort
- hubster - knit something warm

Here's my list!

~ Gift bags
~ Advent stockings
~ quilt for my newest nephew
~ Fabric collages (maybe?) for the inlaws and parentals
~ ornaments - Felt photo frames
                    - neddle felted balls
~ Proper tree skirt
~ Something for hubby. (maybe a 'Forever Lazy', just because they are hilarious..)

And the big one I can only hope to actually get to this year:  Recreating the old school Rudolph the red nosed reindeer in Needle felt.  Along with all his friends.

It's not a matter of size, but a matter of heart.

this year, since I'll be studying throughout the holidays for my paramedic class, I'm only making a few gifts-for my mom, sister, and husband-to-be, and maybe the cats for their first Christmas.
I got my inspiration from here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=358157.msg4214941#msg4214941 for my mom and sister (and me)
so, here's my list:
-embroidered hoop in the likeness of Tuna, her first adopted stray cat. (BIRTHDAY-November)
-embroidered hoop in the likeness of Shadow, her second adopted stray cat (Christmas)

-embroidered hoop in the likeness of Hilcroft, her adopted stray cat (Christmas)
-cross stitch: "finer than frog's hair split four ways" with either cross stitched or embroidered frog (Christmas that was supposed to be birthday August 16, but I got distracted... darn shiny things)

-blank- (I have no clue. I'm sure I'll come up with something, but he's a gamer, and doesn't like stuff laying around, not even throw pillows. Maybe I'll make an entertainment center to put in the game room that'll hold his tv and all his junk.)

the cats:
-Momma: a special window bed- they used to sell them everywhere, but now I can't find them, so I'll just make one.
-Monster: toys. with catnip. and feathers. oh, the fun we will have!

-embroidered hoop in the likeness of my adopted stray cat, Momma
-embroidered hoop in the likeness of my who-I-thought-was-my-adopted-stray-cat-but-is-actually-my-fiance's-cat, Monster. apparently, I'm just the food lady. Cry
-a faux-fireplace that I can take down and put up next year (might involve shelves) so that I can put our stockings up!

~Working on getting back into swaps after some crazy two years!~

Please help me with my "patchwork" station blanket! I would love to get fire department patches! Thanks!
