(I can't believe that this thread hasn't been started for this year so here goes....! Cheesy )

The past couple of years, we've had a discussion thread for our crafting holiday To Do list. I've found the thread to be extremely helpful in helping me keep track of things that I need to make and reading everyone else's lists gives me inspiration.

Feel free to post your list! You can bookmark your entry or place it in your profile as a link so that you can update your list as needed. Discussion of lists or hard to craft for family friends is encouraged!

Oh yay, I was hoping this thread would be started again soon! Cheesy

So I have a pretty big list this year (again). I have most of my gifts figured out, but if anyone has any suggestions for the last few it would be greatly appreciated.

Started
Done

Older sister: TARDIS afghan
Younger sister: Granny square purse
Mom: The Fourth Doctor's Scarf
Dad: Buckeyes
Nana: Shawl
Papa: Socks
Grandpa: Argyle scarf (Pattern here)
Grandma: Hanging towels... Not sure if that's what they're called, but they're like this
Aunt: Things for her cats (toys, a bed, etc.)

Friends: Huh Preferably something that can be made in bulk while at college...

I tried to pick smaller/quicker presents for most people because my mom's scarf and my older sister's afghan are/will be taking MUCH longer than I originally anticipated. Tongue

My list!

10g: not sure yet
8g: scrapghan
6b: Spiderman blanket - done!
3b: Luigi blanket
3g: Crayon blanket - done!

That the crafting I'm planning on doing... I'm likely making blankets for all the kids (none of them are mine, they're all niece and nephews!), but I haven't worked out exactly which blankets to make yet.

I'd better get a move on with this too, most especially because I will be moving house in the middle of my crafting period.

Update: Moved house, everything still in boxes, but I am reunited with my stash (well some of it!)

Update again: my stash is (sort of) organised and I have some table space to work in (yipee)

I need to create or think of:

  • Sister in law W's something joint
  • Mother in law's something major
  • Friend A's something knitted and family gifts
  • Beloved's something major & stocking fillers
  • Sister in law R's something minor
  • Friends P & V something small
  • Friend D's something small
  • Friends T&M something handmade

I have started
  • Mother's waistcoat

I have finished
  • God Daughter's knitted hat and scarf
  • Friend S' napkin rings
  • Friend S's cuff
  • Friend F's coasters
  • Sister in law W's knitted grocery bag
  • Godson's knitted scarf
  • Friend R's knitted dishcloth
  • Christmas cards 78
  • Friend s' cable bags
  • Friend J's coasters
  • Kite flyers calendars

I have purchased
  • Friend I's chocolates
  • Friend S's tea
  • Friend R's chocolates & knitted K9
  • Mother in law's a few stocking fillers
  • Hubby's couple of stocking fillers
Mmm, I think I'll need to add to my list, but here's the start.

Okay, I have no idea what I'm making yet, but I'll write down the people and add the crafts later.  Smiley

Hubby: Imp (from WoW) ornament
           PJ's

Daughter (4): Felt food: tacos, pizza ....
                    PJ's

Son (2): Fleece Dino hat and gloves
            Dino Tail
            PJ's

Family: (we draw names) My brother & wife and son (I think he's 12)

Other crafting goodies I'd like to make:
Stockings (4)  (Or applique the store bought ones)
Garland or bunting
Ornaments for family (with kids helping)
Ornament for the tree (I wish I would have started sooner, but I've decided to make an ornament each year.)

And of course cookies, candies and cake.   Grin
