Hats Galore!!

I'm in the process of moving so I've been trying to use up all of my yarn. So here's some of the hat's I've come up with...I have a bit of an obsession with hats. I can never have enough! Thanks of looking, comments good and bad always appreciated.
 Scalloped with a leaf/flower thing...it turned out way better than I had it pictured in my head. I love when that happens!!

So question, how'd you get the applique on there?
Sew it with the yarn or like sewing thread?
