GEEK on so many levels

Hi!  Smiley  I used to be very active on Craftster, but got distracted for a couple years.  Here goes my first post in ages...

This summer, I started to get interested in embroidery.  My mom is a quilter, so she convinced me to make them into quilts.  They're perfect for the walls of my new apartment.

The first one is a witch that I got from The Google.  I used crayon tinting to color her in and was slightly worried that it would ruin it.  But it didn't!  From start to finish, it took about four days.

The second is from TheFlossBox (http://www.etsy.com/shop/Theflossbox) and it both diagrams and defines mitosis.  I have a special place in my geeky heart for this process of cell division, so this pattern was perfect.  It took about five days to finish it.

It looks like I got this picture before ironing!

Thanks for looking!

The mitosis embroidery is great!  Shiny new cells indeed Smiley

The crayon tinting works really well for the witch too.

Cute! I especially like the witch. She reminds me of an Elvgren pin up girl!

The witch is beautiful but im floored by the mitosis embroidery. I've never seen anything like it and it is simply beautiful to me, a micro biology major.
