I made this a few months ago to learn a few new stitches.

I drew the pattern myself, and used two strands of floss except for the body of the dragonfly, which has six strands.

I did this mainly so I could learn satin stitch. I used it on the leaf and the ladybug, dragonfly, and spider. I also used some french knots for the ladybug's spots.

I loved making the spider and its web!

I was using metallic floss for the first time on the dragonfly. If I did it over, I would choose a different floss. The metallic floss was annoying! Tongue

My favorite part of this hoop was definitely the dragonfly wings. I think this stitch is called honeycomb stitch, and it was so much fun to do! I'm going to be looking for excuses to use this stitch! Cheesy

Thanks! It was good practice for all the satin stitch I did later in a swap hoop. Smiley

This is really lovely. Great idea for practicing stitches. And I agree, I love that honeycomb stitch.

It's beautiful!
I love how you used all those different stitches and how you combined the different nature subjects.
