I made this for my friends birthday this weekend:

It's a mohair/wool blend in a gorgeous silvery/ice blue colour, with a silvery thread running through it. My photography skills ahem *rubbish camera* just doesn't do it justice, it's gorgeous, and really silky soft with a lovely hang to it (is that the right term?)

It's another 1970's wool that I picked up at a sale for 1 for both skeins.

A shot of it spread out to show the pattern:

It's loosely based on the festival scarf on ravelry, but I kind of went my own way because a) me and the pattern weren't really getting on (it was an uneasy truce!) b) I had a limited amount of yarn, so had to stretch it.

A close up of the edge showing the detail and blocking effect:

I absolutely blocked the hell out of this beastie to stretch it as much as I could and to get the lovely 'pointy' edge.

I hope you like, and I'm really happy with this little lovely, don't want to give it away - she's lucky she's my best mate!

C & C's welcome, thanx for looking!
x

I think this is GORGEOUS! It looks soft to me!

And don't feel bad about your camera! I have a half decent one, but look at my pictures, I must have the MOST unsteady hand EVER. For everything else, I use pinterest Smiley

Thanx. I think I need to join pinterest, but I don't think I understand...? Ravelry took long enough to work out!

I use evernote at the mo, which is great, but noone else can see my lists, which is making me ponder pinterest...

I just started my pinterest last weekish, and its honestly pretty addicting. I like that I can follow only some of peoples boards if I want, and if I do a quick search SO MUCH STUFF comes up. It's been a great resource for inspiration. I have found so much DIY stuff I want to try asap. Plus, it shares with friends  super easy.
I haven't quite made it over to ravlery just yet. May have to wait for my addition to pinterest to settle down lol!
