I was in a need of a new bag, especially because I got an ipad for my birthday and wanted a safe place for it when I am out...

So I came up with this...

the orange linen is from a thrift store table cloth I found years ago and have been saving ever since for the perfect project... I wanted to make a skirt of it also, so I reserved enough fabric to do that later on and used the remainder for this bag...

On the inside there is a pocket in the back that is padded and is a perfect fit for the ipad and on the other side of that pocket there are additional pockets for cell phone/ keys etc...

On the other side of the main pocket there is a zippered pocket and then on the front of the bag there is another large pocket.

To hold the batting in place in the back I tried my hand at some free-motion embroidery... which once I got the hang of, I found much easier than I thought it would be...

The flap is my favourite... a nice big dresden flower using some of my absolute favourite fabrics Smiley

This is an awesome bag. Wink I love all the pockets & the & the pretty dreshen flower. Hope you don't mind me saying so but it remines me of the 60's.  Cool I love it. Also the free motion quilting. Well done!!!! Will be watching for the tutorial!!! Roll Eyes
