Circle skirt and hair clip for a birthday gift

Accidentally posted this in the regular completed project forum first, so I'm transferring. 

I just went to the birthday party of my friend's 8 year old daughter.  I tried thinking of something to make her, because she liked the tiered skirts I made her last year.  I couldn't come up with anything until the day before.  I ended up deciding on a simple circle skirt with a wide elastic waistband.  I left the waistband visible, because its sorta in style right now.  Then I used the leftover circle that I'd cut out to make a hair clip for her.

I made the flower pretty big, and it also can clip to the waistband to dress it up a little bit.

Close up of the flower.  I loved this fabric, it would change color as it moved, between purple and maroon.
