Experimenting with bleach gel

I've had a bleach gel pen sitting on my craft table waiting for the day during the summer when I could jump into doing some tees for myself.

Well, I blinked and summer was gone.   Back to school for this teacher and no time to play with the pen.

Yesterday, I decided in a fit of complete spontaneity to just give it a go. I pulled two plain tees out of my dresser that were disposable should I screw up and started the process.

I did the green shirt first with some free hand vine work. The free hand swallows a la Sailor Jerry were my second attempt. I'm happy with both and have already done a third shirt with a dragon design which is currently in the washer.



All told, this process from drawing the design to the finished product was about 60-70 minutes.

I'll add a pic of my dragon shirt tomorrow evening.

The dragon shirt turned out really cool! I took it out of the dryer this morning to hang it up. My son, not completely awake at 6 am, took one look and said "I want one of those!". LOL!

I'm going to write up a tutorial for this in the next week or so.

Looking forward to the tutorial. With a houseful of teens in my home I could totally see us doing these and they would make wonderful unique gifts as well.
