I got a few old men's shirt from my boyfriend's brother that they were going to toss out. The original plan was to make a basic apron like this http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-do-an-apron-using-an-old-shirt/
, but I really liked this fabric and I wanted to maximize all the parts of this shirt. One idea lead to another and with no patterns or instructions to guide me, I somehow came up with this. Hope you enjoy.
Button is fully functional, making it easier to take on and off. I also embellished it with a baby blue piping just to give it a little more of a "pop".
GAP has this cool little detail where they make the last buttonhole in a contrasting purple.
funky purple satin lining
I wanted a cotton but this was all I had laying around.
Kept the original shirt hem. I like how it was kinda scallop looking. The buttons on the bodice is still operable, so you can store things in there if you wanted.
Thanks Laura for modeling it for me.
Sorry didn't have a chance to iron it.
I apologize for the poor camera phone photos. The first photo shows the true colors of the shirt.
