I need help with this yoked skirt! kitkat_pro, don't look!

So I'm in the Out of Your Element swap and I decided to make a twirly skirt for kitkat_pro's daughter. I was doing fine until I made the yoke. As you can see here:

I'll bind up kitkat_pro's DD little thighs with the way it cinches in as it is right now. The purple is just a rectangle and I haven't added the elastic to make the waistband yet(that's what the pink at the top is for). Maybe I should have done a trapezoid? Sendouts are tomorrow. Can someone please tell me how to fix this?
