New! Round 8 to be a special Holiday Edition! It will be a 2 package swap instead of the normal 3. Package 1 will be scavenger hunt style like all the other rounds, but it will be holiday themed. This includes any and all autumn/winter holidays/celebrations/traditions including Halloween, Day of the dead, thanksgiving, christmas, winter solstice, Hanukkah, etc. There will be a section of the questionnaire that will only be visible to me for you to let me know if there is anything you would be particularly offended by.
This is the partial list of items to be included in the scavanger hunt list (some things may be edited out or added in before sign ups):
1. Something edible
2. Something that smells like autumn or winter to you
3. Something edible that you particularly like to consume during the autumn/winter months
4. Something that represents your favorite autumn or winter holiday or celebration
5. Something that you use to decorate your house in autumn or winter
6. Something that you wear particularly in the autumn/winter months
7. Something that has sentimental value to you
8. Something local to your city, state, or country
9. Something from your favorite store (can be online, retail, or local)
10. Something drinkable that you particularly like to consume during the autumn/winter months
11. Something you consider a *Autumn/Winter* essential (think outside the box for this one)
12. Something that helps you stay organized during the winter holidays/celebrations
13. Something that is essential to your favorite craft (favorite hook size & brand, favorite needles, a fat quarter of your favorite fabric, etc.)
14. Something related to reading/literature
15. Something with your favorite color on it
16. Something made out of or with paper that relates to your autumn/winter holidays/celebrations
17. Something that makes you feel warm (could be a memory, or something physical)
18. Something that is part of an autumn/winter tradition for you and your family
19. Something related to a favorite cause/charity
20. Something related to your favorite holiday song/show
...

Have any suggestions for this list? Please feel free to let me know and I will consider adding it to the list!

Package 2 would be 1 large, 1 medium, and 1 small using the following options:
1. Utilizing your best craft, make your partner a present for them to open during their autumn/winter holiday/celebration.
2. Utilizing your best craft, make a present for your partner to give to their friends or family.
3. Create a Holiday Inspired DIY kit for your partner that can be shared with friends and family (EXAMPLE: A Christmas Yarn Wreath DIY KIT that your partner can put together with their children or spouse).
4. Create Holiday inspired decoration for your partner's home. (Please be mindful of things like if your partner rents and cannot put holes in their walls, or lives in a small house and does not have space for large decorations, or what  your partner's holiday/celebrations include or exclude).
5. Create items that would help your partner stay organized in the autumn/winter months.
6. Put together a bundle of craft items that your partner can use to craft gifts or decorations for themselves (This is similar to adding to their stash, but with your partner's holiday/celebrations in mind.)

Have any suggestions for this list? Please feel free to let me know and I will consider adding it to the list!

Currently, I am considering the following timeline:
Sign-ups: September 2nd thru September 23rd
Package 1 due: October 21st
Package 2 due: November 18th

Have any suggestions for the timeline? Please feel free to let me know and I will consider adjusting it!

Finally, I would like to know, would anyone be interested in joining in this Special Holiday Edition?

Awwww - you had me at Snoopy!

What about:

Something that helps you feel warm (could be a memory, or something physical)?
Something that invokes a memory of past holidays (sharing a family picture, a food, a recipe, etc and share the story of it)?
Something that is part of an autumn/winter tradition for you and your family?
Something from a favourite cause/charity?
Something to represent why a particular holiday is most important to you?
Something related to your favourite holiday song/show (so many great ones around that time of the season)?
Something you wear in honour of the season (for example, I have blinking reindeer antlers I wear at work if I am working over the holidays)

I will be away for vacation from the 22nd for over a week, so I would also like if the dates were pushed back, just because I would be incommunicado - there is no wifi where we are going.

Thanks for the replies! I'll probably snag a few of those ideas from you onyxnox! Grin

My only concern about the due dates is that I'm afraid to have a lot of the major holidays passed by the second due date. What if your favorite holiday is halloween or day of the dead? or thanksgiving?
Then again I know people who love halloween things all year long lol

I want to hear what everyone else thinks though! If more people think im over reacting and moving the deadlines would be ok, I'll definitely adjust.

This sounds so cool.  I'll have to see if I can do it once it gets closer to sign-ups.

I'm interested Smiley Time frame sounds fine to me - only my church wedding is on October 22 but the good thing about package 1 is that I could start working on as soon as sign-ups begin and have it ready when I get to know who my partner is.
