I have been seeing this project EVERYWHERE on the internet...except I haven't signed into Craftster in a while so it's probably all over here too...sorry :/

Anyhow...a bunch of the originals I saw said they glued the crayons to the canvas and then left them out in the sun.  Then I read a bunch of blogs that said even in 100+ degree heat, that didn't work for them and they used a blowdryer.  So I skipped the sun and opted for my blowdryer.  My recommendation would be to use an attachment that concentrates the heat into one place.  Mine kinda flares out...hence the splatters.

Anyhow.  Onto the pictures!

First I picked out all the colors I wanted to match my living room:

Then I lined them up by color:

Then I lined them up on the canvas panels (I think I rearranged a bit after this):

Then I glued and melted them.  They'll hang above this couch(and there's the blanket I knitted that I have yet to tie in ends or post):

Closeup:

I have a third panel, but I need more crayons.  I also desperately need to paint my walls...but this will help...once I figure out how I'm going to hang them.

this is fantastic...I think it would look great as a multi-colored one for a kid's room too!

This looks like so much fun.  I wonder how it would look with the scraps of crayons after a school year, though?  Food for thought??

Actually I think the splatters add a more fun, more unique aspect to it, I like the look they give it!

Did you just buy 20+ boxes of crayons or is there another way to get multiples of the colors you want?

I've loved the idea of this craft since I first saw it posted.  Yours is great, I love those colors.  This would be a great project for my apartment and their crazy "no painting the walls" rule.

I did buy a lot of crayons...at WalMart right before back to school.  However, and I am ashamed to admit this, I cherry picked some of the colors and made a few of the boxes only have the colors I wanted.

I felt slightly guilty afterwards.

Thanks for all of the kind words, folks!
