To those who have not started, fear not. You'll be shocked at how quick and fun this swap is! I had a bunch of fun decorating this little monster.

My practice hungry monster, about 6".
It took about an hour because I was fussing around with stitches on the eyes, and then I put a button on anyway.
The fabric is from Daiso, the $1.50 Japanese store full of "Made in China" stuff!
And I could only find creamy white felt instead of white white felt so off to the fabric store tomorrow!
Cute, Smmarrt!  I never heard of Daiso--is that online or am I forced to go to San Francisco in the near future? Roll Eyes

You know, I'm still kinda annoyed.  I went to Joann's a little while ago to get fabric to make the pillows for my partners.  My two girls, ages 9 and 7 were with me, and I have them help me look for the type of fabric I look for.  And they are a help.  I was looking for "monster" patterned fabric, to go with the theme of the swap.  Plenty of Christmas fabric--NO Hanukkah.  Some Halloween--no monsters.  So then I went with the themes my partners said they liked.  One was a patriotic theme.  So I got that.  I was 'assuming' it would be on clearance b/c the Fourth of July is over.  Boy was I wrong!  I'm thinking that they are keeping the patriotic themed fabrics out front and higher priced due to 9/11.  How terrible is that??? Undecided

oh, I feel your pain!  I make quilts for our volunteer firemen's auction and no matter when I go, it seems those fabrics are never on sale!  Glad you found something that will be just as nice for your partners!

Daiso is a chain and I know there are other stores in the US - but they are all over the world too. So maybe a trip to Romania or Vancouver instead? Not that you can't come back to SF any day....

Can't find the fabric and I would check to where it ships from...

That fabric is crazy cute, Smmarrt!

My practice monster was an EPIC fail. Her face was far too wonky to be passed as acceptable. But monster #2 is a success! So me monster done. Now time for nom noms!

Have you looked at the bandannas? They would be the right size.  I started both of mine last night.  I ran out of time to finish them.. Dang!  But I think I will get them done tonight!
