here is my amazing package from burntsmore. i have not been art journaling that long and i am very humbled and amazed at her talent. i took a bunch of shots and these are a few of my favorites-it was very hard to choose.

i really like the paper she used. what is it and where did it come from.

i really like the paper she used. what is it and where did it come from.

It's watercolor paper that I dyed in black tea for about 8-12 hours. This is only the second time I've done this, and the first time doing paper so large, but I've found that it's definitely best to do one sheet at a time and oddly, warm tea works better than cold. It makes the color darker and it dyes faster.

I'm so glad you like your journal, I had a lot of fun making it and I definitely learned some new things. I'll post pics soon.

Lots of photos of the FABULOUS travel-themed journal I received from -zoma-. It's truly awesome, Claire, really and truly. I love it.

Fabric and embroidery and fancy machine stitches - great ESP! Oh, and I can add photos in the circle frames!

I could not have received a more perfect journal for me and my "all over the map" way of thinking and traveling. Claire - you rock. I now understand why your daughter was so reluctant for you to mail it to me. I hope that you are half as satisfied with the journal I made for you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I need to add more photos. My seven-year-old friend (daughter of my office mate) and I went through the whole book and she asked me to explain everything.

There are tons of map pages - some painted, some not - and many hand decorated pages. Really, it's awesome. And the envelopes had stickers and other embellishments included.

Beautiful journal -zoma- I'm still in awe of your book binding skills. I know you say it isn't that hard, but I'm going to stick to coptic binding a bit longer before I try and do a fully bound book. Call me chicken if you want to.

I just had to share this. DD and I bought a shrinky dinks kit, she made pendants and I made a charm for the journal. I hope it survived the mail.
