This is part of the package I sent to MayhapMurklins in the Pushing Daisies Swap. She has already received, so there are no spoilers! She mentioned in her questionnaire that she liked Olive's pie hat in the episode "Comfort Food." I loved the way that hat looked too, so I decided to try my hand at making one!

I made up the pattern as I went along. I used a silver colored wool blend for the pie tin, a golden brown cotton yarn for the crust, and a red alpaca blend for the filling.

I sewed the pie to a ribbon and elastic headband I made.

Detail shot! I don't know how well you can see it, but I knitted the filling with bobbles to give it more of a berry texture.

Here is how it looks when worn. Since the pie is just filled with stuffing, it is very lightweight!

Here's another angle!

I loved knitting this, and I'm so happy that my partner loves it too!

Guardie for life.

I am really interested in doing a personal swap, especially for greener things like reusable lady items, wool dryer balls, or other such things.  I can knit, sew, draw, and put things together in pretty neat ways.  Please PM me if you're interested.

The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese. . . . I would rather have cheese.

This rocks! Such an awesome hat/fascinator-type thing.  In fact, I kind of want to eat it because you did such a good job Wink
