I love these so creative. I have wanted to make a pair like these for some time. They are so cool. What size wire did you use for the base? Great job.

Sorry. I don't know what gauge it is. All I know is that it is memory wire and that the beads should fit loosely on the wire. I used memory wire because it doesn't calapse.
When the thread is wrapped around so many times it squeezes the center together.
If you use regular wire it won't keep its tear drop shape as well.

Oh, these are lovely! I'd like to see the peacock colors, as that is what I thought of when I saw the shape!

Here is the pendant. I made it differently than the earrings. I hope you like it.

OoOoOoOoh! Pretty! I have always been too overwhelmed by the thought of making these. But anyway, the seed bead idea is ingenious and these are awesome! My favorite is the pendant. I love that design! I am also in love with the colors in the second earrings.

It was definitely worth all the work-they look great!  The purple earrings are my fave, it almost looks like there are feathers inside the way the colors fade.  I think this string jewelry stuff was big in the 70s and I am glad it's back because it is so fun to look at!

I just had a request for them in a swap - I was wondering if this would work too - glad to see yours and that the beads do work.  I was going to try the hand coiled wire though.  Good job on yours - good to know I have a fallback plan.
