My little brother (in law) is going off to college and I wanted to make him something to remember me by.  So I whipped this up for him.  The pattern is called Snap Happy! by Stitchin' Sisters.  Super easy instructions and a fun, fast project!  It snaps closed thanks to 2 pieces of measuring tape in the top hem!  Too cool!

OMG i saw this technique done at a Craft Show I was a vendor for.  Where did you find inexpensive tape measures? Thanks for showing your creation.

Oh, I really like how your bag turned out - I bought this pattern from my quilt shop about a month ago, but have not even cut out fabric for it.  I purchased my tape measure at the Dollar General Store for $2.00.  Now you have inspired me to use the pattern and get some made.  Nice job, and I like your choice of fabric.  I think these are even cuter than zipper pouches!   Cool

Found this one for only a dollar at my local Dollar Tree store  Smiley Plenty more on the tape measure too!

Thanks for the comments everyone, I agree fiddlegirl8, I like them better than zipper pouches too.

just a tip with the tape measure...make sure when you cut it that you either pull it all the way out, or use that stopper. otherwise the tape will roll back into the holder!
