I've seen these EVERYWHERE and had to make one for myself.  Wink I bought some purple jersey for $2.39 a while ago and decided to risk cutting into it. I'm glad I did. This is a super easy top, with only 3 seams and 2 pieces. I made the neck hole too big, so I added some nice, soft, gathers to the back. Unfortunately I had no purple thread. Exposed stitching is in right now, right? Most of these tops retail for around $20-$40, and I got mine for about $3. Pretty good, I think. The pattern pieces are 1 circle and 1 strip for the neckband. You can find the tutorial here: http://chewynoodles.blogspot.com/2011/08/draped-jersey-circle-top-tutorial.html

Guardie for life.

I am really interested in doing a personal swap, especially for greener things like reusable lady items, wool dryer balls, or other such things.  I can knit, sew, draw, and put things together in pretty neat ways.  Please PM me if you're interested.

I had a vintage pattern from my aunt for this but the length of it was too short and if i widened the circle, the neck became too big! now i know the idea just stuck to add gathers!

I love these tops! I just bought some cute knit material to make one but have been too afraid to start. I'll be sure to reference your tutorial when I do get around to it! Thanks for sharing!

Gorgeous! Nice colour and nice shape, I'd love to wear something like this.

I love doing that, shopping and seeing tons of things you like (or if you're like me, obsess about a certain style of something till I buy/make) and then cringing at the price tag, then making it yourself. Cheaper, and usually its one of a kind.
