I'm not sure where this goes, so I'll just put it here Smiley

I made this roll because I was so sick of my paint brushes being in this ugly gray bag where I basically had to dump it all out every time to find the one I wanted. Because it was always on the bottom, you know. I used a scrap of red canvas fabric from another project and a strip of elastic, as well as some red ribbon. It measures 32" long by 12" wide and holds 7 painting knives, 22 "good" brushes, and a pack of those crappy kid's brushes (I use them with masking fluid and such that ruins my good brushes). Here it is!

Dramatic side view:

This kinda shows the scale next to the toaster Smiley

Closeup of the elastic:

All wrapped up:

And some end views (they remind me of roses)

Sorry about the quality, they're the dreaded cell phone pictures haha

C&C much appreciated!

That is very nice.  I like the way you can keep everything in one place, brushes knives etc.  Mine live in a jar, which is not so good for the knives, as either their pointed ends stick up to stab you or down and get blunted.

Really cool!  This totally inspires me to make one as a gift for a friend.  I know it is so satisfying to see all your supplies organized and in one place.   Smiley

Quick question-- how did you gauge how big/far apart to make the elastic loops?  Is it uniform or did you vary things based on your individual brush collection? Thanks!

I did mine based on my collection, but I measured them and a good, uniform size would probably be 1/4" to 1/2", depending on the type of handle. If you have some with a wide end that tapers down, you have to make it a little bigger so it can stretch around the big part, like this:

And then I spaced mine going brush-empty pocket-brush, like the right side of this picture, but you could put them flush, like the left side, if all your brushes lined up well like that

Hope this helped! I'll be happy to clarify anything else Smiley

Another lovely idea, maybe I could make a smaller one to carry my makeup brushes in!
