i bought this yesterday, loved it, and wanted a brighter one.

so i busted out a remnant of yellow spandex and some red spandex mesh and made this:

i drafted my pattern onto newspaper and zigzagged and topstitched my happy way on.  the bottoms are on their way.

Wow, you're very good. And you look great in it too, which can sometimes be the bummer about self-made clothing. Way to go girl.

oh whoa, that's awesome! My bosom is too big for just spandex, I need a constructural engineer to strap those things in. You lucky dog, you!

The yellow is amazing and I love it with the red.

actually, this top style is better than most for big-busted ladies.  there's that nice band at the bottom that i layered for sturdiness, the cups are gathered for shape, and the thick halter straps provide pretty good support.  my d-cup friend krista got the same suit that i did and is very happy with it thus far.

and even if you don't like this style, you can copy your favorite suit easily by tracing the pieces plus seam allowance onto newspaper.  that's all i did.

thanks for the great feedback!

so if you just traced the pieces onto paper, how did you get the cups three dimentional....or are they? are they flat pieces that just streach over your figure? way cool! i hope i can make something like this some day. i wonder if it is difficult working with such slippery and streachy fabric.

the yellow spandex is made for swim/dance wear and it holds up perfectly in the water.  the seams were dodgy, so i essentially made a pocket for each piece, flipped it inside out and top-stitched around it.  the cups are gathered at the bottom to the waistband, which you can see looking at the second picture.
