Never one to start small, I decided to take up cross stitching and this is my first attempt.

I wanted to do a video game character because they translate easy to cross stitching and I picked Pit from Super Smash Bros mainly because I just think he looks cool.

The whole thing took me about two months of stitching an average of 1-2 hours a night when I was watching TV. In other words it took me half a season of Alias, 1 season of Battlestar Galactica and Pushing Daisies, 2 seasons of Popular, and way too many Law and Order episodes to count.

My awesome grandmother then framed it for me for my birthday.

The finished product

This is a serious piece for a first timer, and you did an amazing job.

Also, I love the fact that you just recently watched the series of Popular. I just finished it Smiley

I am amazed you did it all in only two months.  I can hardly credit that it is your first piece and that you managed to do it while watching TV.  My stitching goes all to pieces if I try and do anything else at the same time - even holding a conversation  Roll Eyes  Well done.

Thanks for the nice comments! I'm one of those people that always has to be doing something with their hands, even if they're doing something else, so stitching while watching TV worked well for me.

In retrospect I probably should've started with a smaller piece, but I had a lot of fun with this one. If anyone wants to try their hand at Pit, I got the pattern at http://www.spritestitch.com/?p=907
