I've been looking for doll patterns that were a little more realistic than the typical tubes and balls for pretty much the whole body, but I couldn't find any. So, I just made up my own!

Here's what I came up with:

I'm calling this one my "Deluxe" doll. It's about 22 inches tall, but the right footwear and hairstyle could put it over two feet!

It took me a while to figure out how to shape the face like that

You can't really tell, but it has butt cheeks! XD I don't know why, but I'm strangely proud of that fact.

All the dolls I make with this pattern will have completely removable clothing, so that I can make multiple outfits for one doll.

As much as I like this pattern, it's a pain in the butt to make because it's so big, especially if I wire it. Sad So I made two smaller, less complicated ones. Of course, they lose the realistic touch, but whatever.

This one's my "Spaghetti" doll, since the arms and legs are so thin and floppy. I'll probably make the head shorter next time I make this doll, though.

And this would be my "Chibi" doll. I don't plan on using this one that often, except maybe for gifts or commissions since it doesn't take long to make.
EDIT: Never mind, I'm having a lot of fun with this doll. Cheesy Also, I have the pattern up here if you want to try it: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=403946.msg4754050#msg4754050

The best thing about all three is that I can crochet them all as one piece, no sewing parts on separately! This may not seem like such a perk, but I honestly hate sewing, and I never seem to be able to sew the legs and arms on completely symmetrically.

I'm currently turning my first Deluxe doll into this guy: http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x73/Miss-Lanane/Tales%20of%20the%20Abyss/asch3uw.jpg Because I am a masochist.

So what do you guys think? Do they need any improvements?

I LOVE the littlest guy!!  But then, I'm usually a fan of short and stubby.  I cannot believe how accurate your deluxe doll is, though.  That's outstanding.

The deluxe doll is great!!  I love the hands especially - I've never been a huge fan of making people because of the balls for hands but this one I would make.
