Here's another idea of how to recon a mans tie. Smiley

Because I needed to somehow close the slit in this skirt I decided to try making a kick pleat out of one of my hubby's old ties. Then I added more of the tie over the pocket flaps, and this is the result.
Overall look:

I'm pleased with how it looks, and that it turned out wearable! lol But I would love to hear some feedback, and thoughts? Smiley

I really like that!
I need more long skirts for the summer - no sun and lots of Little League games...
Thanks for this idea - need to dig through my tie stash and old jean stash!!!

Thanks - Selkie

Power is strength and the ability to see yourself through your own eyes and not through the eyes of another. It is being able to place a circle of power at your own feet and not take power from someone else's circle.

That's brilliant.  Such a great use for many of the lush bits of fabric that are in badly out of style ties!

Thanks! I've since made a couple more with ties. Get loads of comments when I wear them, too.
