For a first entry in the Craftster Challenge, I've made made laminated bookmarks of my own design.  I had an enjoyable time searching the internet to find appropriate quotes and coupling them with photos either I or my daughter have taken.  My computer skills aren't the greatest but I was able to combine the quotes & photos on strips of paper. I then fastened two strips back to back with double stick tape before laminating so they'd be two sided.  I simply trimmed some & left them but punched & tied ribbons to others.  Then I thought to add beads with either ribbon or fishing line.

I even used photos of my daughters & grandlings on one to make it more personal.  So far, the ones I've given to family & friends have been well received & I intend to make more using some of the many travel photos I have.

I can't see the photo, if you have one there? But that sounds really cool. Did you have any trouble using the fishing line to attach beads? It seems like it might come untied.

I'm sorry.  I was up until 2am trying to get my photos posted but wasn't able to figure it out.  They're uploaded somewhere on the site but I don't know where or how to transfer them.  Then I've been gone all day & just returned.  Hopefully I can solve my problem now.  As a last resort, they're also in my photobucket:

As to your question, I didn't tie knots.  I used sleeves & a crimping tool to fasten them securely.  So far I've not had them come off.

Thanks everyone.  It's nice to know you've enjoyed them.  I don't know what I'll do with so many bookmarks but have found so many great quotes I need to make them anyway.  I don't remember the exact wording or the author right now but my all time favorite says something like,  "Writing a novel is the closest a man ever comes to childbirth."  Isn't it true?
