These are adorable! I will keep my eye out for them on the playa - speaking of which are they purely for fashion, or do you think they will actually be functional and let you breathe and keep the dust out? I usually prefer just a bandana tied over my face, but I may have to make one of these and test it out!

They're more functional than just a bandanna because the fabric is secured on all four sides, and it won't fall off. Since the straps are elastic it isn't uncomfortable to wear, whereas I always take off a bandanna ASAP.

I've really enjoyed making these and coming up with some fabulous color combos!

That's amazing that they work too! Form & function Smiley

I knit myself a mask once (with a piggie nose) but I after I lined it to keep the dust out I couldn't actually breathe through it, so  I'm extra impressed that yours work. And they do look comfortable!

I really hope I get to see some of these in person in BRC!

Well one way to make that happen to is come by our camp, Post Nuclear Family, at 4:30 and Divorce. We also have an art car, the Sensatron 5000, that we'll be cruising on!

Well yes, then you must!

We're going to have large yellow flags with our logo, a lookout tower, rainbow organza all over the camp, and a pyramid art car. Should be easy to find. I don't have a playa name and everyone in our camp knows who I am, so ask for Julianne!

This would be hilarious for people to wear who are in fear of avian flu, or even nurses who work with kids in places where there is a need to wear a mask. Awesome work. I hope you're trying to sell some of them. I can also see the comicon community digging these.

I'm so jealous of y'all and the Burning Man!...someday *dreamy look in the eye*....And you should totally sell these after that too.  I want one...even if I'm not sure where I would wear it....well...I'd probably just wear it around the house, *she says waving her squid finger around*

For nurses, you would have to make them over a regular mask I bet.  OSHA and all.  But I would LOVE to have a nurse or Doc with one of those.  Perhaps you could just have a flap under the zipper to keep with regulations...

To all past swap partners....If something I made you fell apart in some way, it would be helpful to me if you PMed me and told me about it.  Sometimes, I try new things, and if they fail, it helps me to know

Well in respect to Craftster's policy RE: the limbo stick, I'll just say why do you think I've been making so many of these masks?  Wink

After Burning Man I'm going to be thinking about expansion and marketing. Doctors were almost a joke idea (I think the masks are creepy and scary) but it can't hurt to try. I'm also going to think about expanding into Asia, where surgical masks get regularly worn.
