DORMANT: Brazilian Bikini Crochetalong (with pattern link)

I've been lurking on the crochet boards for a bit and I'm finally adamant about something, enough to post about it. I would really really really like others to join me in crocheting a Brazilian bikini.

I am using Fixation (Cascade Yarns) and a 2.1 mm, even though 1.75 mm was recommended, I thought it'd be a bit too small..

It'd be really sweeeeeeeet if y'all would join in....

I also love that brazilian bikini, but where I am there are no good yarns available.  and I don't have a small enough hook.  but I could do a sort of practice run along with you?

I've been eyeing that bikini, but I don't know how see through it would be :S Would you line it?? I'll crochet a practice one until I find good yarn.

Thanks! This has in fact turned out to be a practice run(unintentionally)...the yarn I have isn't the best for this project, or maybe I'm just stinking at it, but Ill keep at it. When it does work out, I def intend to line it.

I'm a horrible person I forgot all about the bikinni, I've been studying for my finals and getting ready for my missions trip instead. Perhaps when I get back?

I definitely want to give this one a shot with you all!  Although--I may make mine a tankini to hide my tummy;-p

You could always line the bikini when you finish.  Actually, that might look cool.  If the yarn is light colored, and you want contrast, line it with a darker fabric.  I bet the ladies on the sewing board could suggest a kind of material to use.

I can't believe that I found this post we talked with a friend of mine yesterday about her wanting bikini like that. I would like to join but the link is not working, Is it my computer of is something broken.
