Neko (cat) Tote

While cleaning out her basement, my sister found this fabric which she had purchased in Japan. She didn't know what to do with it so she gave it to me!

I added a bit to the side, some vinyl on the bottom, quilted around each of the "lucky" cats, and turned it into a large tote bag. There are 24 different cats! The lining is a simple red mini-dot that was in my stash.

I am guessing that she will want it back now!

Ha ha. Isn't that always the case? You get something that no one wants, fix it up, and they will inevitably want it back.

I am totally loving this bag and if I was your sister I'd try and persuade you to give it to me too.

The fabric is actually a panel used to go over a door in Japan...I did not want to cut it and I certainly don't have any doors to hang it in...I realized that my Mother also bought one of these in a different fabric...guess I will be making her a tote now!
