Hi there!  I've been crafting on Craftster for a while, but never strayed to the papercraft forum before!  I finally got the itch to try my hand at papercutting recently.  I've got no real skill or experience, but I've got oodles of spare time, which I think is the real building block of crafts, haha.  It turned out to be super tedious and time-consuming - big shocker there - but I had a surprisingly good time.

I started off with some simple, high-contrast, graphic papercuts of white paper on dark blue backgrounds.  I designed an abstract celestial orbital scene and a more representational castle/cityscape.

The orbital (with moon, sun, stars, planet, and a shooting star).  This one's the most accurate of the colors.  I realized after cutting the first three giant swirls that I was never going to cut curlicues out ever again.  EVER.

The castle/cityscape  (This is based loosely off of the promotional image for The Tenth Kingdom, if anyone's seen that.  Holla, low-budget Hallmark fantasy!)

And the upside down view, just so you can see the cityscape reflection,

They work so well in my royal blue-themed bathroom.  Cheesy  I'm very happy with them.

I welcome comments/critique!

Ooooh, snazzy... you made me want to try this myself!  Too bad I am lacking in artistic talent (I can just embroider what other people draw).  Smiley

Thank you!  I really appreciate it.  I always loved the combo of dark blue and white - very clean colors.

LOVE both of these!! It's tough to pick which on I like better. I'm in serious awe of your patience. There's no way I'd have the patience to sit there and do all that. They both look awesome!
