As soon as I started making paper people, I knew I wanted to make a bunch of paper cowgirls for my daughter. She is 5 1/2 and completely head over heals in love with horses.

I have 3 projects planned for her- A large paper cowgirl doll that she can play dress up with. A medium sized doll with an awesome background to hang on the wall. And an art journal with a cowgirl on the cover.

I made the journal today.

If she doesn't end up using it as a journal, I can still frame it and hang it up on her wall Smiley

I realized that I should probably have explained a bit how I made it-

I love the book, 'Collage Couture' by Julie Nutting. That is where I got the inspiration for making the people. All of the words are horse related and taken from an old dictionary (1971 I believe), the clothes for the cowgirl are made from a magazine, the background is just thin cardboard stamped with bubble wrap. The body, lettering, and the bling are all new.

Thanks for looking!

I have become fascinated by collage lately. This is a great idea for presents for my niece and nephew.
