I made a small change purse to practice before making a larger purse-size version.  

I used some Red Heart yarn I had leftover.

Here's roughly the pattern I used, based on a few different versions I found.  

1- With a magic ring, dc 12 stitches.
2- 2 dc in each dc of first row (24 dc)
3- dc in first dc, 2 dc in next dc, repeat (36)
Double chain to the height you want, finish off
Make a chain of around 40 single chains for the tie.  Weave through ends as desired.

It's a pretty quick project.  I finished in less than an hour.

Cute bag!  I love to crochet, but it takes me forever.  Okay more like I walk away from it a lot Smiley  Nice job though!
