It suddenly occurred to me that there will probably be a number of children's birthday parties this year.  All I can think of to make for kids (other than my own) is aprons.

I liked the T-shirts that Jo_Mama made for her daughter's bf, but I can't airbrush.  I'm thinking maybe sun-printed t-shirts.

Any other ideas for generic kids stuff that I can make ahead?

Bleach pen shirts! I found the idea on pinterest. Evidently, you just put some newspaper and then wax paper inside the shirt, and color with a bleach pen! Rinse in cold water when desired color is achieved, then wash. Here's the link: http://showtellshare.blogspot.com/2011/02/bleach-pen-tshirts-stash.html

Also, depending on age, sock monkeys make fantastic gifts. You can dress them up or leave them as is. You don't necessarily have to use the regular monkey socks, either.... you can use any sock as long as it has a contrasting heel and toe.

Or make a scrap robot (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=388707.0).

Library book totes are super easy and cheap.

I'm making monster scoodies for my niece and Goddaughter this year- knit or crochet a scarf and hood, then connect. Knit or crochet claws and add the ends of scarf, then spikes or horns for the hood part.

Hope this is helpful!

Bookmarked! I'm going to have to try that after I move. (Yeah, I'm moving again. I've lived in the same house since I was 3 years old, and I moved in June, now I'm moving again in like I don't know... A week or two? o_o )

I have finished gifts!!

First is a "cow" pillow for my stepfather (it's a long story, but trust me, he'll like it).

Next is a T-shirt for my son, who's turning 14.

And here's a close up of the picture:

NICE! That Zombie shirt made me LOL so hard! XDDDD
I'm not really planning any "homemade" gifts currently because of my swaps BUT---tomorrow I AM hosting a baby shower where I will be decorating AND I'm making a ton of flannel blankies for the mommmy-to-be ^^ SO I guess that counts. HEH, I'm a pretty lackluster member of this thread I think since I don't do the whole Holiday or Birthday thing  Roll Eyes But I have a whole year to get my act together right?  Smiley

for younger kiddos i like to make recycled crayons in various shapes.  i bought a silicone star cupcake tray a few years back and it works awesome.  then i make one for each color of the rainbow, stack them up, and wrap in clear cellophane.  makes an adorable gift.

for older kids i like little craft kits.  like, all the stuff you need to . . . make a stuffie or make something to hang on their wall, etc.  and for georgia's little friends i've made some friendship bracelets with charms on them as little extras.
