So my fiance and I decided that for our in-town relatives, we wanted to try canning something to give - that way I could make it on my Thanksgiving break, and it still be good for Christmas, haha. Well, we wanted to try a sampler pack of nut butters, then realized it isn't really safe to can those at home. So I think we're going to try some salsas instead. Gunna try our first one tonight. Wish us luck!!

I'm so jealous of you guys that can can stuff xD I recently was banned from canning, making most if not all wines (Shhh, I may secretly try to make wine in my basement in spring), making apple sauce and apple butter, and making donuts. Dx I'm so butt hurt!!!!

Sooo... I bought some super chunky yarn to make an extra scarf for boyfriend. I realize I should finish the other one before starting the new one, but I think I can make the new one super fast and have time to finish the old one so he can get both. Smiley I have so many freaking projects dude!!! I need to finish some before I start a bunch more >_<;;; But I keep finding more projects I wanna doooooooo!

Whew - well, I feel like I haven't posted here in ages, though I AM reading what you all are up to and being increasingly inspired. Smiley

I've basically finished my big kiddo's pirate costume for hallowe'en. Good thing since we're having a party HERE on Saturday - I WILL post some pics of finished projects SOON I promise!

I know my list doesn't look ANYTHING like it did before, but here's an off the cuff version:

jams - almost complete (3 kinds left to make)
pickles - almost complete (2 kinds left to make)
cardigan sweater for Mum (Christmas) - two front bands of seed stitch and toggle buttons to sew on
pirate costume for big kiddo - vest sewn, t-shirt altered, pants sewn, head scarf purchased ($1 store!), belt repurposed from hubby's closet - I'd say that's complete!
Robe for my own costume - I have an Idea... not even close!
all the rest of the Christmas gifts - not even started Sad urg.

ALSO - I haven't got a FLIPPIN' CLUE what to make for my hubby for Christmas. Seriously people. I. NEED. HELP.

A quick run-down. He's pretty geeky. Loves x-box, is a software engineer (the real kind, with the iron ring Tongue), loves computers, doctor who, superheros, comic books, the cottage, funny movies, action movies (although they're mostly superhero movies, let's be honest)... that's about all I can think of... so ideas ideas ideas... anything you can think of. seriously.

LOVE YOU ALL, you inspire me soooo much!
Tea.

Teamama, you could always do something like: http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/4/2007/10/XBOX_360_Plush_Edition_V2_by_kickass_peanut.jpg or http://26.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lno121YC901qev2vuo1_500.jpg

Fullmoon - those are SERIOUSLY awesome... but he's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not a plushie kind of guy. Which is a bummer because I could totally just fill my house with little multi-coloured daleks... he he he. But he'd probably not like that very much. He's such a MAN so hard to craft for. Tongue

Teamama - what about a cryptex for your hubby?  It's a sort of puzzle thing from The Da Vinci Code.   You could put something inside (i.e. a note, poem, picture) as well.

Here's a link to instructions for a cardboard version:

Aww Teamama, that would frustrate me to no end. XD I had a boyfriend once who was always happy to let me paint his nails and he wore some of my clothes and accessories, and would play with my plushies with me. Ethan on the other hand, while he won't let me paint his nails and he doesn't fit in my clothes, he loves when I make him things, and he loves plushies that I make him Smiley
