Cutting a bias skirt pattern on the straight grain?

I own this dress: http://heartbreakerfashion.com/dresses/aimee-dress/aimee-dress-dandy.html and am working on recreating it in a different colorway.  I am using Vogue 9668 (OOP) which is nearly an exact match, but it calls for a bias cut four panel skirt.  The dress I own has an a-line skirt cut on the straight grain.  I like the way it hangs and would prefer to save a little material. What should I do to convert the skirt pattern piece (other than the obvious elimination of the center seam)?

I can't really help you  But I just wanted to say that I'm trying to redo my classic cherry sweetie dress from the same clothing line I'm drafting the pattern using the existing dress. I'm still working on it, I'm hoping to start cutting bed sheets for my 1st try this weekend.

Anyway, maybe you could use your existing dress to make the skirt pattern and then use the top from the vogue one. That is what I would try on cheap fabric (yay for bed sheet in thrift store )

You shouldn't have to do anything, besides turn the pattern so that the line indicated for grain is actually perpendicular to the grain (which ought to put the pattern piece on the straight grain).

This is probably me just showing my n00b, but is the bust cut on a bias as well?

On the RTW dress, all the parts are cut on the straight.  The Vogue pattern incorporates a lovely pointed midriff band that is cut on the bias, but the bust and back are on the straight as well.
