We are going to Pennsic War and We wanted new fencing gear for it. The doublet is made of Purple Denim, the Sleeves of a light Flannel. I made it so that the sleeves are attached, He can go with a tee under it or nothing at all. The sleeves are done in the style of a Leine which  is the shirt that would have been worn under it by an Irishmen. there are 12 buttons on it I offered to sew it with Velcro and make the buttons only a decoration but he was a Sailor for 12 years and is use to getting buttons on and off even drunk (there are 13 buttons on the US Navy dress pants)
The sleeves are a good thing because the other fighter can't tell exactly were his arms is to target him as well, and he can tangle his opponents blade in them.

*waves at strawberryh!*

He looks so handsome in his doublet!

I've been to Pennsic many times. The heat at Cooper's Lake this time of year is brutal. Make sure you stay hydrated. Smiley

( Waves Back) Tell me about it... And WITHOUT the help of the heat I look like a strawberry... But we are prepared We all have water bottles and will be going to the water cows often. My husband runs interference with people who stalk me with to much water. He tells them "no she really is fine that is her normal color in the heat. if she look white then you worry"

Brilliant design to eliminate the extra (HOT!) layers.  I love those sleeves.  Smiley
