I have been very busy getting ready for Pennsic War Al though this is not my first and I am getting up there in years to start new and strenuous things. I have taken up fencing at age 39 and have been doing it out side in the horrible heat. I fished my husbands and my Fencing Garb but I wanted my Helm to let the world know who was under the mask. That is a Chaperon on top it is a hood that is rolled up from the face hole with a liripipe. If fencers were to wear Helms and masks during the middle ages they would have been decorated and gaudy.

I intend to Paint my Husbands so it looks like he has a purple mask on like he is the Teen Age Mutant Ninja Turtle Donatello. Just because we can. We are a strange lot us SCA-ers

Oh this made me smile. What a mad and wonderful thing to do to such a boring item as a fencing mask.
