Ok so I told my friend I would I would make her a mini plushie type thing of her favorite character just like in a picture she had from a fan comic. And I have been DIEING to make a poppet ever since I found this website and found out about poppets. It felt like such a perfect match.

And yet it did not turn out at all how I pictured...

This picture just makes him look all the more wonky. But I need to get over it and post him since I promised that I would post him when I was done since he is my very first one. Actually he is my first project of this type ever. Ive not sewn like this before. And let me say hand sewing takes forever Tongue

On the upside I learned how to NOT do wings, tails, and painted faces. SO next time I should do better.

And here is a side by side of him and his reference picture I used for him. Just to give an idea of how he SHOULD look.

I love Bleach and Ulquiorra.  I think your poppet looks fantastic!  I've been wanting to make a poppet for awhile now, but never had any good ideas.  I never thought to make ones from the animes I love.  That's a great idea!

Your friend is a lucky girl and I'm sure she will love/does love him very much.  Smiley

No worries about any perceived wonkiness! He's immediately recognizable as Ulquiorra and the painted details look great!
