Can I have some fishy crackers?

I've been totally redo-ing my bedroom, and I have a fondness for anything that looks old and slightly weird. Eclectic and stuff! I had originally seen a suitcase chair that I drooled over for about 6 months that I wanted to make, but when I tried, I didn't like how it came out, so I made me a table instead!

We had had this table for forever and a day (as in, it was a wedding gift for my parents). Don't worry, I asked before I chopped it up Smiley

Then I stalked every thrift store in a 50 mile radius and found this lovely yellow thing...

Took it home, cleaned it up, attacked the table with about twelve layers of spray paint, (because these SILLY MOTHS kept LANDING ON MY WET PAINT AND FLOPPING AROUND) and voila! Suitcase table!

I'm not done with it yet; I still have to find some duper super cute fabric to cover the little glass insert in the middle with, but until then. I just was so excited about it so I posted it Smiley

Andddd here it is all finished up!

Thanks you guys!

So Awesome! I love how it is a mix of shapes with the round stand with the square suitcase, I applaud you.

Um, so this is SUPER cute! Now, to peel the super old suitcases we have out of my mothers garage...

I just came to this thread from your bedroom makeover post, and I am sooo in love with this thing! The color scheme of your whole bedroom is one of my favorite motifs, so pretty.
I want to try something like this for my living room. I have a couple similar suitcases that are just laying around looking pretty (not that there's anything wrong with that). How did you go about attaching the suitcase to the table, or is it resting on top? And is the slightly domed shape kind of cumbersome to put things on? I'd imagine stuff might slide off.

Anyway, I'm super jealous of your room!

The tassels add the little something. Great table.

It is better to have crafted and failed then never to have crafted at all.
Yes, I am stalking the Toys and Playthings board. Thanks for noticing!
I'm cheating on Craftster with Pinterest. It's ok though. There's overlap.

Eclectic indeed, but what a cute table! I especially love the suitcase... you definitely don't see luggage like that anymore!

I would love to do a personal swap for stuff for my lonely, empty walls!
