The far corner of my kitchen counter was dark and inaccessible, so I decided to hang a lamp there. My idea came at Home Depot in the hardware department where I saw a dohickey that I still don't know its use:

I glued decorative paper to chicken wire, wrapped the chicken wire around the dohicky, used construction adhesive to glue the chicken wire to the dohicky. The light is a kit. I used the one with an in-line switch. A looooong chain would work well also.

Here it is all shiny and lit:

Hubby says I should make 3 more only much shorter to hang under the cabinets. The hardest part: Gluing the paper to the wire. Added bonus-- I found that chicken wire with decorative paper on it makes for great backdrops in photos for jewelry and such.

I love this. We live in a "vintage" modular home (aka old tailer) with weak ceilings and poor lighting. You just solved me living room lighting problems. Thanks for sharing!

It is what it is...until you get a glue gun, duct tape, scissors, spray paint, and a kitchen table...then it's a master piece!
