Originally I was making headbands and bracelets from pop tabs. Then my mother told my cousin that I was collecting tabs, and two weeks later she mailed me a box with (yes, literally) 5000 pop tabs. Just making bracelets takes roughly 23 pop tabs. With this box I'd be able to make 217 bracelets. Or I could expand, so that's what I did with this pretty little wallet made from 379 pop tabs and a surprisingly small amount of pink textured yarn.
Inside there's a pink lining with 8 card slots, a coin-pocket, an open pocket and an additional piece of fabric to separate it into two pockets in the rare chance that I'd actually find myself carrying cash. Otherwise let's just call it a bus-ticket-pocket. If I want to I can fit my phone inside it too, because the pop tab section is surprisingly flexible. It closes with a pink zipper.

That is great! How long did it take you to make?

How great that your cousin sent you so many tabs - I look forward to seeing what else you make with them!

This one took me...maybe 2 hours to crochet, since it was my first ever pop tab crochet so I had to get the hang of it first. And unravel a bit when making some sort of horrible mistake Wink And then some time to figure out how to do the lining, but all in all it probably took about 4-5 hours.

As for the next project I've already started on a purse and crocheted the first 1200 tabs for that one, so keep your eyes out. I'll have it posted as soon as it's done:)

Thanks!

I think that is the nicest poptab creation I have ever seen.

Great job.

I'm staring at it, wondering how you did it.  I love the design, and what a neat idea!  Is it easy to do?  I might have to try it.

I'd say it was pretty easy to do, especially if you already know how to crochet. And even if you don't the process is rather simple. As for incorporating the pop tabs I learned how to via an online tutorial. The first row is a bit tricky because the tabs tend to be a little slippery and you're crocheting through four at a time, but once you get the hang of keeping them all in line it's a quick and (mostly) painless process.
So I'd say go for it! Would love to see what the rest of you could produce in pop tab crochet! Smiley
