I'm embarressed to post this, I dont have a rotary cutter and board which I hope to remedy soon. I've always been crafty on and off, but I wanted to make more useful stuff and decided sewing was the way to go. My wonderful grandmother god bless her, bought me a sewing machine and this is my first project. DH thinks it's garish so I think my little sis will be getting it for her birthday. A little over confident in colour choice maybe? Tongue Made a few more things since but nothing particulary notable, currently a patchwork cushion for my mum.

Edit: more pics!

I don't think it' garish at all, I love the purple and green together!  How did you add the butterflies?

I don't see where you can get garish from that! It's lovely, and the colors complement each other.  The butterflies are absolutely beautiful!

Thanks again breemonkey and Gelsey. Wink It is a patteren by Janet Clare that was in a magazine, of course it was terracota and peach in the mag. I think I traced the butterflies onto the fusable web, ironed it onto the fabric cut them out and then ironed onto the background. Then freehand machine embroidred and zig zag stitched them. Which pretty much drove me to the 'just get it done' stage. Tongue

I don't think it's garish!  It's bold!  And it's beautiful!  I am jealous of your talent!
