This summer my cousin was admiring all of the purses I made and hinted towards wanting a diaper bag. She was having problem finding a diaper bag she liked, and she wanted it to match her stroller (chocolate and burnt orange), so I went to work on the project! I am going to miss her baby shower in mid-August because of a trip, so she will be getting it this weekend Smiley

(No pattern, just picked some dimensions and started cutting; my previous post was the scrappy prototype that became my craft bag)

The front:

The side which has little stroller straps for hanging the bag: (they are really reinforced even though they are super skinny)

The top with a double sliding zipper: (ignore my toes...)

The inside: (One side has two elastic loops for bottles, the other has a pocket)

There is also one of those nifty key chain clips (It can go on the inside or outside):

And now it is full of goodies!:

Including a changing blanket that I included some scraps in:

I'm thinking about making a diaper clutch like a lot of other people do... or two small stuffies, an alligator and a giraffe. Any advice?

Thanks!

Thanks! I really want to do the alligator just for to be silly. My cousin and her husband are FSU graduates (the Seminoles) and I am about to have my second degree from UF (the Gators). So besides being fun, it would be a little bit of a joke also Smiley

I vote for stuffies as well Smiley  Babies love cute little soft toys.  It's always so fun to embroider on the little eyes and nose and mouth of the toys, that's my fave part Smiley  Oh, and I also second the amazingness of your bag creation without a pattern!  Totally rocks!

Great job.  The bag looks so useful, and I love the fabrics.

If you make stuffies make them small for little hands (speaking as someone with a baby, big stuffies are kind of useless right now).

So I went ahead and did the Stuffed animals to match. If I have time tomorrow, I would like to try that diaper strap though Smiley I'm in the process of moving, so it might not happen though...

Thanks for the idea, Milnerg! Cheesy
