These would look amazing hanging from a window or ceiling using the clear fishing line. Maybe even as a mobile in a room. Wonder how hard it would be to add crystals / beads.....

Any chance there is a video tutorial of how to do these??? Please???

The butterflies are amazing.  I can picture them on a mobile for a little girl so it would look like a flock was flying over her crib.

My internet connection is extremely slow so I would have difficulty uploading a video but crochetville has a video How to crochet a butterfly  I haven't
been able to download it because of my connection speed so I don't know if it is the same butterfly.

I am also thinking of using some to pretty up a mosquito net, especially for a little girl's bedroom.

These would be great to replace disposable bows on gifts. Thank you for sharing!

As soon as I saw the perle cottons I thought how beautiful they would look along the neck and bottom edge of a crisp white smock for a little girl. Once they were sewn in on the hem I would cut out the white cotton so the sun light would go through the butterflies! I will have to look up that pattern and find a little girl to make them for!
Thanks for the introduction to butterflies, they are beautiful!

You did a very nice job on these!

Might I add, most picots are ended in the same stitch that they were started in.

Thank you very much for that, Rustybones.  I am new to crochet and there are a lot of things I don't know.  It is so nice to have someone, who knows, help with those little things the books don't always bother to explain.

Beautiful! I wonder how they would look like if you used a typical fingering yarn....
I will definitely have to try it out for myself. They would seem like they would be a great addition to a home made mobile for a baby....
