Actually, "painted" may be a bit of a misnomer since I used markers to make these. Wink My partner in the recent Disney swap requested something with "second star to the right" and the London skyline on it. So I made her these shoes!

They started out as a pair of plain white sneakers.

The backs. I was really proud of the way Neverland Island looks.

The sides, with the quote, "The second star to the right and straight on 'til morning."

Thanks for looking!

They look great! c: What kind of markers did you use? I've been wanting to try this, but I don't know if the regular fabric pens I have would do the trick.

These are gorgeous! I'm curious too....what did you use to do the drawing and did you cover the shoes with anything to make the picture waterproof?

Nice work xo

Thanks everyone! They're colored with artist markers from Faber Castell and sealed with a waterproof varnish. I did the drawing freehand with pencil first, then colored it and sealed it. All in all they took two days from initial drawing to varnish application.

If you get canvas shoes, I can't see any reason why fabric markers wouldn't work. I just used what I had Smiley

I absolutely adore these!  I want to make something like this so much.  Where did you get the shoes?
