I would like to share with you, The Empress.  This is a hoopla I stitched up for spookygrrly in the Ongoing Hoopla Swap Round 2.  She received, so it is now safe to share.  One of the topics she listed was Tarot and I have been wanting to stitch up some tarot card artwork, so thought this to be the perfect opportunity!  I have also been wanting to dabble in using paint on fabric, so I set the artwork to the fabric with pencil (not my artwork), I then painted the art with watered down acrylic and set to stitching.  It was really fun...I taught myself several new stitches while working on this lady.  I used satin, backstitch, feather stitch, chain, split and I can't remember the name of the one with the white and rose color right now.  I gave her crown jewels with seed beads.  It was fun to make those teeny tiny tassles, they make me giggle.  I finished her off by adding some ribbon to frame her.  I have to say after spending so much time with her, she was hard to mail away.

Any comments are most appreciated!!

She's beautiful!  Great work!  Someday I'll be brave enough to attempt crayon tinting or acyrillc paints.  Cheesy

that's beautiful!!  did you add the highlights with the paint on the dress or was that the way it turned out?  It's just a gorgeous piece. I would've had a hard time sending that off as well

Thank you ladies!!  I did the highlights with paint, probably can't tell from these shots, but the staff and gold items have shades as well...and the white on her dress is all satin stitch.  Go for it Ffrogg..this was my first use of paint on fabric...I was so nervous.

Wow, those colors really pop!  Shocked  Your stitching is fantastic and I'm really digging those touches of the tassels and ribbon.  Stitching tarot cards, so smart!

Absolutely gorgeous!  Your stitching is beautiful, as are your painted/beaded accents.  I have always wanted to do some tarot stitching.
