So I got a Nook. My sister got a Nook Color. I have the Nook app and Kindle App on my cell. I love to read. I am in a book club and we are reading books like mad. It gets a little expensive. There is a store called Half-Price Books. I AM THERE. Only thing is, I'm back to reading retro-books. Oh, it hurts my wrist and fingers to hold the books open!  Embarrassed  Oh, I have to read with two hands again!  Tongue  BUT, I AM SAVING MONEY~!  Grin  And don't forget, whenever I pick up my book to read, I have to FIND THE DARN PAGE I WAS ON! It doesn't automatically open back up where I left off! oh the humanity!!!  Then Genius hit me...

Even though I love the convenience of my Nook, I still love Retro-Books

And there is a time and a place for a Retro-Book, like... well ... ~ anyways...

And my daughter liked it so much she wanted one with her name on it. *whispers* She doesn't have a Nook. We get her books from the -- wait for it -- Library. I know, right?! Definitely needs a retro-bookmark!

So there ya have it. This is where Genius has gotten me. I am the maker of the Retro-BookMarks. Bring back the Retro-Books! hehehe

Technical details:
I was using polyester quilt batting, but then switched to cotton which I love a whole lot more! It is not quite so lofty. The stitching is on muslin and I quilted the dotted line through all layers. Then machine sewed it all together. ah, I love sewing.

So what do y'all think? (And no, I am not from the south, but prefer to use that term at this time. Because well, frankly, it is also genius, and I am trying to be consistent. Today.)

Really cute! I have a Kindle, and I still like retro books, too. I wish I had cool bookmarks like that.

These are super cute. The fonts and fabrics are great together.  To think that books with actual pages and covers are going to be retro, wow, how times change (I feel old).

Cute bookmarks!

Loved your commentary.  Cheesy

I love my Kindle (I sure love not having to hold my books open & the automatic bookmarking), but I still have plenty of retro books too.

Darn that Half Priced Books!  I don't have one in my city, but whenever I'm near one I always spend so much!  I'm definitely a "retro" book girl.  I love having a collection of books.  I'm not caving and getting a nook!  Those bookmarks are so colorful and fun!   You did such a great job on them!

I love the tactile feel of "retro" books. I refuse to spend more than a quarter on most of them though, but have still managed to amass a collection of 500+ paperbacks.

I also love bookmarks, and have quite a few. Love yours, might have to make some fabric ones for myself!

I find that crafts are very good time wasters. If they aren't for you, then you are one of those rare individuals who know what you're doing!
