It's been so cold my tomatoes probably won't look great until september, when all my summer flowers have wiltered.. Maybe if I plant an entire box full of speedy radishes! Cheesy

I may not have any fruits or vegetables to show but my plants themselves are doing mighty fine. The foliage is taking over! Cheesy

I am glad to know I am not the only late planter. My veggies won't be ready until September either. Maybe even the beginning of October.

They are actually red tomatoes (just not fully ripe in those) BUT...the confusing part is they are bigger than any cherry tomatoes I've ever seen, but not as big as a regular tomato...so I am mystified.  Their brother plant that I left on the perimeter of the yard to be trampled and abused by the dogs has tiny cherry tomato - like fruit...maybe I just have really good soil in the pot I transplanted them in!  Wink

Well off to take pictures of my small deck! I live in college apartments and have a really narrow deck but I am still able to have my planters. I have not had to buy cucumbers or tomatoes this summer!

Yay! Finally something on Craftster I can participate in. I haven't been making anything because I have been too busy in my garden, haha.

Could they be sungold, the most marvelous of all cherry tomatoes? Truly a queen among solanaceae!

Ah, red. Smiley My cherry toms this year are freaky big too, for no good reason.

I've seen some too that are cherry vine toms, tend to ripen in bunches instead of individually and to run in larger sizes... Maybe it's one o' them.

I've also seen tomatoes called 'plum tomatoes' which are bigger than cherry tomatoes, but smaller than a 'regular' tomato.  Maybe that's what it is?

I've left my tomato bushes in the garden "as is" over the winter, and only take them out in the spring, to plant new ones.  I've been pleasantly surprised by how they re-seed themselves when you do that, and I've ended up with many more plants than what I've purchased!

Well I've decided they are just cherry tomatoes - they've been growing in the most marvelous little clusters - almost more than we can eat.  They'll be slowing down right around the time my other plants are getting ripe fruit - several little green tomatoes on the other vines - that will hopefully grow into BIG tomatoes.  They are brandywine...I think.  Smiley
